One of my short-term goals is to get better about blogging regularly – But as I’m sitting here thinking about what the heck I want to post (i.e., do people really want to know that I had my first squeaky cheese experience this weekend and I’m still acting like a 5 year old over it?), I realized it’d be easier to figure out who’s reading first! Please take a sec to answer the following polls :)

Senior season is in full swing! I somehow end up with the funny, smart, gorgeous girls – Shelby was no exception. She definitely had her head screwed on right, looking forward to seeing where life takes her! Thanks Shelby!

If you’re interested in booking a senior portrait session, this summer is the time! A lot of local schools have early fall yearbook deadlines – Salem schools seem to be especially early. Even if your deadline is later, the weather won’t be quite this nice come January :)
For more information on senior portraits, click here. I photograph a limited number of seniors per month – contact me soon to reserve your space!
Below are a few of my favorites from Kaylyn’s recent senior session:

Just a few of my favorites from Katie’s senior portrait session last week! We met up in Salem for the shoot, I loved this location. Thank you Katie for putting up with my dorkiness at the shoot ;)

There were these HUGE dandelions – seriously the biggest either of us had ever seen. I’m sure somewhere, someone out there knows what they were! They didn’t work too well for the below shots because the fluffy seed things (I’m so technical, haha) were so big that they didn’t come right off. But it was funny to watch Katie try! :)

Kali is one of my 2010 senior reps – She met me down at my family’s farm last week for her senior session, I love how they turned out. Thanks Kali, you’re gorgeous!

Okay I got a little carried away and edited way more than usual for this blog post – I think I’m trying to make up for not posting much this month… I photographed Taylor’s senior session at the farm the other day, we had so much fun. Well I know I did, she may have just been thinking “who is this lunatic?” the whole time ;)
Thanks Taylor, enjoy the last few weeks of your junior year!

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend! Thought I should post a few photos from my trip to Bend last week -
Friday we went hiking at Smith Rock – I’ve never been there before, but it was gorgeous! When we got to the top we could see a bunch of huge houses down below along the river, must be quite the place to live!
“Misery Ridge Trail” was pretty much exactly as it sounds. Well, maybe that’s because I spend more time editing photos behind a computer than I do hiking…

My friend, the rattlesnake… This guy was hanging out on a rock waist-level as we were walking by, and we heard him before we saw him. Not a fan of that experience! Of course this picture was taken from farther away (my legs wouldn’t stop shaking, so the further way the better, haha!), but when we first met he was about 2 feet away. No thank you!!
Tumalo Falls…
Three Pools, in the middle of nowhere (somewhere outside of Lyons)

The new version of the web site is launched, if you haven’t already check it out at www.kacyjo.com !
And while I’m posting, here are a few quick snapshots from last weekend at the Oregon Zoo in Portland. It is pretty impossible to get decent shots at a zoo on a holiday weekend, soo many people! Which is why I need to plan a trip to Africa for proper wild animal photos :)

My sister’s cat sits like this sometimes and I think it’s the weirdest thing! He (or she) looked pretty comfy:
