My friends Peter and Kelly were married this past weekend in Hawaii, and I had the tough job of traveling over to photograph the big day for them – Here is just a quick sneak peek. And huge thank you to my lovely friend Jen for agreeing to come along and shoot with me semi-last minute! :)

I get quite a few emails from new photographers with various questions, and one thing that many of them seem to be confused about is how to price their work. There are a lot of factors that go into pricing (if you’re doing it properly, not just choosing a number randomly), and it can be pretty intimidating! Earlier this year I attended one of Liana Lehman’s Photo Biz Boot Camps, and it was definitely one of the best investments I’ve made in my business.
Knowing the factors you need to take into consideration when determining your price makes it a lot easier to know what you need to be charging. Yes, what you NEED to be charging. I think a lot of new photographers have problems pricing their work because they don’t think of it that way… which I suppose is fine if someone else is paying your bills and putting food on your table ;)
I just learned that Liana is hosting a series of webinars through Marathon Press – I highly recommend checking these out! Both beginning and experienced photographers can benefit, she definitely knows her stuff. The first webinar, “Business Housekeeping 101,” is tomorrow, and the “Money, Lies, and Photography” webinar is on January 20th – so mark your calendar! :)

I had so much fun taking Marina’s senior portraits this summer – She is so sweet, and her mom and boyfriend were a lot of fun to have along. They came down from the Portland area to my family’s farm outside of Harrisburg for her senior shoot – Here are a few of my favorites!
If you’re a the planning-ahead type and are thinking of having a senior or portrait session with me next summer, you can still save 25% off of your portrait session fee – The Black Friday sale ends Monday at midnight! Click here to book your session!
