We’re looking for fun, outgoing seniors from the class of 2011 to represent Kacy Kizer. A limited number of students will be selected from the Willamette Valley and Portland areas.

Yearbook Headshot Event!

A lot of local schools have yearbook deadlines sneaking right up – late October, early November… I’m hosting a yearbook headshot event at my home in Salem on September 27th to get those photos out of the way! This is perfect if:

- You go to a high school with strict yearbook rules (must be indoor with a backdrop, etc)
- You won’t meet the deadline due to not having a session scheduled, or having it too close to the deadline. I’m booked thru the very very end of October, so if you have an early November deadline and haven’t booked a session with me, you won’t meet your yearbook deadline.

Cost:

- Free if you have already booked and paid for a shoot with me.
- Free if you would like to pre-pay your session to be scheduled later this fall or in the spring.
- Everyone else, $40

Details:

- The backdrops won’t be cheesy, so even if you don’t “need” an indoor yearbook headshot you might want to swing by just to have a few extra photos with something different
- The event will take place at my home on September 27th, from 4pm – 7pm. Just drop by anytime between those hours, it’ll be quick and painless!
- Special discounts will be given to those who drop by – so if you’re dying for an amazing album of your full senior session, or want an additional outdoor session in the spring, you should definitely come
- If you aren’t a current client and are paying the $40 fee, please bring a check or a card that I can run on-site.
- Please RSVP to kacy@kacykizer.com, so that I can give you my address without throwing it all over the internet

I found out about this great article in Seattle Bride magazine this morning, and had to share. One of the most common things I hear when I tell people I’m a photographer is something along the lines of “Oh my sister got married last year and just had a friend take the photos… She regrets it, they didn’t turn out well.” And then maybe followed by something like “She should have hired you!” ;)

This article is written by an amateur photographer who explains the value in hiring a professional. She was asked to shoot a wedding alongside one, and saw the difference firsthand. Please pass this link along to any engaged friends who are considering just using “a friend with a nice camera” to photograph their wedding!

Huge Thumbs Down To My Contact Form

I just found out that the contact form on my main web site (not the one on this blog) has been down for at least 4 days. My email is working just fine, it’s just new inquiries through my site that haven’t been going through.

If you filled out my contact form and haven’t received a response yet, email me directly at kacy@kacykizer.com or call at 541-912-3334. I normally get back to inquiries within 24 hours, so if it’s been a few days please contact me.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience, I hate to think that there could be people out there thinking “yeah the chick took decent pictures, but she never got back to us…”
